Tiraspol police issue contradictory data as to pedophile’s identity
The Tiraspol militsia communicates contradictory information about the identity of the pedophile who raped two girls, aged 8 and 9, in one of the town’s neighborhoods, the Info-Prim Neo correspondent in the area reports.
Tiraspol Penal Inquest Direction head, Vitaly Tabak, said in a TV program that a man aged 25, with penal antecedents, was detained on March 13.
Earlier the Novii Reghion-2 news agency disseminated another story, quoting Vyacheslav Fesenko, the head of the criminal police of October district of Tiraspol. According to him, the suspect was detained on March 12 and recognized the felony he allegedly committed on March 3. The detainee has penal antecedents and is under the supervision of a psychiatrist. At the same time the head of the criminal police of the district says they are seeking for a second suspect, who allegedly committed the rape of February 5.
The Tiraspol weekly “Ruskii Proryv” has published an article on the rapes, titled “Pedophile rapist deserves death,” suggesting this opinion is shared by most of the Tiraspol residents interviewed. The opinion poll was carried out by the informational-analytical center „S-Tsentr.”
Under the Penal Code of the self-proclaimed Transnistrian area, the death punishment was abolished. The felonies committed by the pedophile are qualified as very grave and are punished by imprisonment of up to 15 years.
The victims’ health condition is good.
