After Ukraine signs the Association Agreement with the EU at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius and Moldova initials it there, Tiraspol will have to change its position on Moldova’s European course, said Prime Minister Iurie Leanca. The Moldovan constitutional authorities will hold more intense discussions with the administration of the Transnistrian region so as to explain to it once again the advantages and possibilities offered by the association with the EU, IPN reports.
In public debates on November 12, the Premier said the reunification of Moldova will be possible when the constitutional authorities achieve success in the European integration process. The right bank will become much more attractive for the Transnistrians owing to the investments and support of the EU.
Iurie Leanca called on the residents from the right bank of the Nistru River to be tolerant towards the anti-European behavior of the Transnistrian administration, saying the Transnistrian conflict will be solved with patience.
According to Iurie Leanca, after the Vilnius Summit the Transnistrian region will look like an island in an ocean formed by Ukraine and the right bank of the Nistru. Thus, it will be practically impossible for this region to apply other economic and commercial standards.
