Tiraspol lost 8m rubles owing to crisis
Tiraspol city lost 8 million rubles (11.4 million lei) as a result of the crisis, Mayor Victor Kostyrko said at a meeting on Tuesday, Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent in the Transnistrian region reports.
“The economic crisis affected mainly the building companies,” Kostyrko said. “The authorities must work out an extensive plan of measures to support these companies,” he added. According to him, the construction sector can propel the Transnistrian economy out the crisis.
“If the support program is not formulated in the near future, works on a number of building sites will be suspended,” the mayor of Tiraspol said.
Valerii Zemliakov, the head of the Budget Commission, said that the Tiraspol businesspersons lost 250,000 rubles (357,000 lei) during the first four months of this year. “Though issued with patents, the entrepreneurs do not have work,” Zemliakov said.
The collections to the budget fell by 35.15 million rubles (50 million lei) from January to April following the lower production volumes at the companies working in Tiraspol.
