Tiraspol launches consultations on implementation of Rogozin-Shevchuk protocol

The Transnistrian administration has launched consultations with Moscow on the implementation of the protocol signed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin and Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk at end-October. The protocol provides that some of the Transnistrian companies will be able to take part in Russian state orders, including for the defense system of Russia, IPN reports.

According to the Agency “Novyi Region”, the protocol is a continuation of the similar document signed in 2006 by the former leader of Transnistria Igor Smirnov and the then Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexandr Jukov.

Moscow pledged to help create a group of processing companies, with advanced technology, in the Transnistrian region. Russia also aims to include Transnistria in its national social programs and projects. It will continue to offer Transnistria humanitarian and financial assistance. There will be intensified the relations between education institutions and media outlets.

The document says that the interested federal authorities can sign agreements with the competent authorities of Transnistria to cooperate in specific areas of activity.
