Tiraspol faces kindergarten space shortage
As the demand for a spot in a Tiraspol kindergarten has increased 10 times from the beginning of the year, teachers are forced to conduct classes of at least 25 children, despite an upper limit of 15. Even so, at least 400 youngsters have remained outside a kindergarten, Info-Prim Neo's field correspondent reports.
Discussing the issue at a meeting of the Tiraspol City Council's commission for social policy and youth, the councilors decided to open additional classes in one of the kindergartens. Yet, the shortage of room in kindergartens remains alarming.
Local officials say that 3 years at least are needed to institute a new program in the public education system to redress the situation.
