The yellow security alert in the Transnistrian region, which expires on January 19, has been extended for 60 days, by an order made by the de facto leader of the region, IPN reports.
At the end of April, the Transnistrian administration first introduced a red alert following a series of explosions that occurred in the region. A month later, the alert level was downgraded to yellow and was extended later for several times.
Among the introduced measures are the requirement to register citizens when moving through checkpoints set up by Tiraspol, and heightening of inspections of vehicles entering or leaving the region, and of those located in railway stations on the left side of the Nistru and in the municipality of Bender.
