Tiraspol doctors suggest issuing passports for animals
More and more Tiraspol residents abandon their pets, endangering thus the sanitary situation in the town, the local sanitary authorities warn. Senior epizootologist Svetoslav Nikolaev said that a document that would coordinate the related activities of the veterinary institutions and the police is badly needed, Info-Prim-Neo’s correspondent in Tiraspol reports.
Veterinarians suggest issuing passports for animals and tattooing a registration number on the animals’ skin. According to them, this will enable to hold the irresponsible owners accountable.
Last year, 40% of the bitten Tiraspol residents that appealed to the doctor for help said they were attacked by stray dogs.
