Tiraspol blames Chisinau for inefficient cooperation of working groups
The Tiraspol administration blames Chisinau for the inefficient cooperation of the working groups for building confidence between the two sides of the Nistru. In a news conference, Nina Shtanski, the so-called Transnistrian foreign minister, said that some of the Moldovan experts did not show willingness to solve the existing problems. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the Premier for Reintegration Eugen Karpov said that the working groups of Chisinau have always been open for discussion.
“Meetings were held to imitate a working process,” said Nina Shtanski. “We aim to cooperate constructively not only in the 5+2 format, but also within the working groups in all the fields.”
Eugen Karpov has told Info-Prim Neo that the working groups did not work effectively, but not because Chisinau did not want to cooperate more intensely. “In Chisinau, all the working groups are functional and ready for serious discussions. In Transnistria, some of the working groups have not been yet created. For example, the working groups on education, security matters and other issues refused to have meetings and thus cooperation relations could not be established in the given areas,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
He also said that the working groups of Chisinau are always ready to start work and are waiting for a signal from the Transnistrian side.
The regulations signed last November, during the first official meting in the 5+2 format, say that the working groups will have joint meetings once in two weeks.
