The Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk signed a so-called bill concerning the state border of Transnistria, which includes Bender town and three villages, one of which is Varnita. First Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov has told IPN that all the competent authorities are being consulted and, towards the end of the day, the constitutional authorities will make public the official position.

“Varnita cannot pass under the administration of Transnistria because this village is fully controlled by the constitutional authorities. We now hold consultations with all the institutions involved,” said the official.

Yevgeny Shevchuk signed the document on June 10. It is to come into force 14 days after its publication.
