Tiraspol aims to impose 100% customs duties on export of food products

The Transnistrian administration intends to impose 100% customs duties on the export of food products from the region. A relevant proposal is being designed, it is said on the website of the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselski.

“It is unacceptable, for example, to leave the agricultural producers without working capital. We cannot risk with the agricultural products whose shelf-life is limited or that need specific storage conditions. It is important to correctly calculate what can and should be processed on the internal market and what products should be sold abroad,” said the Transnistrian leader.

A commission was constituted to supervise exports.  Control over food products will be toughened up.

In the meeting that discussed the subject, it was noted that the forced replacement of logistics significantly extends the delivery route of imported products and this automatically raises their prices.

The leader of the Transnistrian administration considers the restrictions imposed temporarily on the sale of goods of social importance are reasonable in such conditions, primarily amid the panic when the citizens purchase goods in quantities that significantly exceed their needs.
