“Tiras-Tighina” prepares surprises for coming election campaign
The Association of the 1992 War Veterans “Tiras-Tighina” has announced that it is preparing 'surprise' information for the Moldovan political class that will be made public during the approaching election campaign, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“We know that they will try to destroy and sue us, but nothing will change without sacrifices,” the Association's head, lieutenant colonel Anatolie Caraman said in a news conference on September 2.
According to Caraman, personal responsibility is needed in order to ensure the guaranteed functioning of the Constitution and this can be achieved only if the President of Moldova is elected by popular vote.
The Association of the 1992 War Veterans “Tiras-Tighina” calls on the Moldovan people to go to the constitutional referendum on September 5 and vote in favor of direct election of the head of state. “Only this way can we unlock the political crisis and avoid spending money uselessly in election campaigns,” he said.
“Tiras-Tighina” was founded in 1992 by former combatants of the Nistru war and veterans of the Ministry of the Interior.
The legislative and presidential elections in Moldova might take place in November. Acting President Mihai Ghimpu said he will announce the day of the dissolution of Parliament after the September 5 plebiscite.
