Timofti asks parliamentary factions to close negotiations by April 5

President Nicolae Timofti called on the parliamentary factions to close the negotiations by April 5, when he will propose a candidate for premiership, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the presidential press service, Nicolae Timofti during the last two days held separate consultations with representatives of the parliamentary groups of the Liberal Party, the Democratic Party, and the Liberal-Democratic Party and with the leaders of these parties with a view to designating a candidate for the post of Prime Minister.

The parliamentary factions asked for more time to finish the talks as they haven’t yet agreed a candidate for the post of Premier.

Earlier, the head of state announced that he will put forward a candidate for premiership by the end of March. On April 5, it is a month since the Government was given a vote of no confidence by Parliament.
