The food products whose shelf life is of up to 90 days inclusively and less than 1/2 of this period remained until expiry could not be imported into Moldova, IPN reports.
Under a bill adopted by Parliament, the decision also applies to food products that can be used during 90 to 180 days inclusively, if less than 60 days remained until expiry.
It is also banned importing food products whose shelf life is longer than 180 days and less than 1/3 of this period remained until expiry.
Currently, it is not allowed importing food products that expire in less than half of their shell life period.
According to bill sponsor Alexandru Trubca, business entities meet with impediments when importing food products, especially as regards those whose shelf life is longer than 90 days, and cases of goods return were reported.
