The rainstorm with thunder and lightning that passed through Chisinau in the afternoon of June 23 left downed trees, damaged cars and Ciocana district in blackout. On the streets Gh. Asachi, A. Pushkin, Soseaua Hancesti and Soseaua Muncesti, trees fell on the roadway or damaged the contact network of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company. As a result, traffic was disrupted in parts, including of trolleybuses, IPN has learned from the Chisinau City Hall.

Emergency response teams of the Green Areas Association and the Chisinau Electric Transport Company intervened to alleviate the consequences of the thunderstorm and to unblock the streets. Employees of the road maintenance company “Exdrupo” take measures to clean the pluvial drainage channels and remove the mud and waste brought by water and wind.

The “InfoTrafic” Service of the National Patrolling Inspectorate said traffic moves with difficulty on the section of Ismail St between the streets Bucuresti and Kogalniceanu owing to trees downed on the roadway there.

Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Tutu has told IPN that the rescuers and firemen received no call to deal with emergencies.
