A three-year-old boy died Sunday evening after falling into a 10-meter-deep well in the village of Larga Noua, Cahul, the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service reported.
According to witnesses, the boy was playing in the yard of his family’s house, where an uncovered well is located. At some point, the family members lost sight of the child. An ambulance crew was called, however there was little to do but pronounce the boy dead. The circumstances of the case are investigated by the police.
The Civil Protection Service is urging parents and guardians to cover any wells or open reservoirs in their households to avoid similar incidents.
