Three villages without power on New Year
The inhabitants of three villages of Ialoveni district met the New Year in the darkness after persons fired a hunter’s gun and damaged the electric power line. Fortunately, nobody was hurt and the power supply was restored shortly after the incident, Vasile Gribincea, communication chief at Red Union Fenosa, has told Info-Prim Neo.
According to him, residents of Gangura, Alexandrovka and Misovka of Ialoveni district called the central dispatcher’s office of Red Union Fenosa at 22.25 on December 31, 2011, informing that they did not have electricity. An intervention team established soon that the 10 kV power line that supplies the three settlements with electrical energy was damaged after a hunter’s gun was fired into the air.
“Some of the bullets remained in the torn metallic wire. Residents of Alexandrovka confirmed that somebody fired the gun and damaged the power line. However, they didn’t do it intentionally, but for of joy as the New Year was coming. Consequently, the inhabitants of the three villages did not have electricity on New Years’ Eve. The power supply was restored at 00.17 and the people could continue amusing themselves,” said Vasile Gribincea.
The power supplier needed about two hours to fix the problem. Vasile Gribincea said the situation only seems funny as the persons who shot and those who were around exposed themselves to a real danger of electrocution. The company warns the people to be cautious when near electrical installations and to strictly obey the safety rules.
