The Chisinau Appeals Court sentenced three boys who raped a younger schoolmate two years ago to eight years in jail each, IPN reports.
According to prosecutors, in September 2012 the culprits, who were then tenth graders at a lyceum in Hancesti town, raped a third-grader for three consecutive days, during recesses. The nine-year-old boy was taken by force to the school’s gym and changing rooms and raped there. The child told his parents about what happened and these informed the police.
Last year, the prosecutors asked condemning the three to ten years behind bars, but the Hancesti Court acquitted them, arguing the blame of the three wasn’t proven.
The decision of the Appeals Court is definitive, but can be yet challenged.
