Three persons were seriously injured in the only road accident with victims involved that occurred on January 25 in Chisinau. Ion Roscovanu, Road Safety Inspector of the Chisinau Traffic Police, told Info-Prim Neo that the accident took place at 2:30 PM at the intersection of the streets Columna and Banulescu-Bodoni. A Volkswagen-Passat car driven by a man, 30, violently hit an Opel-Astra vehicle driven by Balti resident, aged 31. The strong collision had caused serious injuries to three persons, who were assisted by doctors. Opel-Astra’s driver suffered head trauma and chest contusion. His passenger, a 23-year-old man, fractured his pelvis bones. The passenger of the Volkswagen-Passat suffered head trauma and wounded his forehead. Besides this road accident, other 22 victimless accidents occurred on Friday. Traffic agents fined 17 drivers for the technical condition of their vehicles, 93 for speeding, 130 for dangerous manoeuvring, 45 for neglecting traffic lights, 25 for driving without their seat-belts on, 16 for drunk-driving and 37 pedestrians for jaywalking. A total of 542 violations of traffic rules were registered during the day.
