Three persons got 1 to 3 years' probation in a case involving unauthorized access to the networks and telecommunication services of the mobile operators Orange and Moldcell, Info-Prim Neo learned from the Prosecutor General's Office. In addition to the criminal proceedings, as part of which all the equipment used in the crime was confiscated, the three offenders now also face civil claims initiated by the operators, which seek pecuniary damages of 1.94 million lei and 1.79 million lei, respectively. In the period 2009-2010, the offenders organized a scheme to sell mobile services in the name of Orange and Moldcell without being authorized to do so. During interrogations, the offenders confessed that Romanian citizens were also involved in the scheme. Materials in this respect were sent to the Romanian authorities.
