There rotaries will be constructed on the Sarateni-Soroca road within the Compact Program. The announcement was made by Frederich Huster, manager of the project of Strabag Company, which is carrying out road repair works, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.
The first traffic circle will appear at the intersection of the two national roads in Gura Camencii village of Floresti district, which is considered one of the most dangerous in the country. The other two will be built in Rogojeni and at the Drochia-Otaci intersection in Soroca district.
During an inspection, Iurie Leanca said the rotaries will make the drivers reduce speed when they approach them. “I hope very much that the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure will implement this system in other areas of the country too,” stated the Prime Minister.
Frederich Huster informed that additional equipment and workers were brought in order to complete the work by winter and make the highway available for use by next summer.
The Premier also inspected the quality of the Vadeni-Parlita road, which is part of the project to rehabilitate the Sarateni-Soroca road that is a bypass for large trucks.
Under the project, there will be rehabilitated 93 km of the national road M2, from the Sarateni intersection up to the Drochia intersection. The highway is considered important for the passenger, freight and service traffic between Moldova and Ukraine and was included by the Government in the priorities of the National Development Strategy and the Land Transport Infrastructure Strategy.
