Three senior officers of the ‘Nord’ Division of General Police Inspectorate were arrested on suspicion of passive corruption, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the policemen asked and received €1,400 and 80,000 lei from five persons investigated for drug distribution for not holding them accountable.

The suspects are aged between 27 and 37. One of them is police colonel. They were earlier investigated in a similar case.

On December 19, the three will appear in court. The prosecutors asked that they be put under arrest for 30 days.
