Three persons with masks and guns tried to rob a currency exchange facility in Chisinau’s Botanica district earlier today. Two of them were caught by the employees of the facility, while the third was arrested by the police shortly afterward, the deputy head of the General Police Commissariat’s Investigation Division Anatol Ivanov said in a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Two of the arrested men, aged 39 and 40, are citizens of Moldova, while the third, of 29, is from Romania and worked as a guard at a discothèque. “The men threatened the currency exchange facility’s employees with a pistol and demanded that they give the money. At that moment, an employee clutched one of the men and the other employees came to his aid. Then they called the police,” Anatol Ivanov said. He also said the suspects do not have a criminal record. If they are found guilty, they will service 10 to 15 years in jail.
