Anticorruption officers arrested three persons of African origin in Chisinau on suspicion that they forged money, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime. The three suspects were arrested in an apartment in Chisinau. During a search, the officers found chemical preparations and solutions used to counterfeit foreign currency. According to the Center, the suspects contacted a Moldovan, telling him that they have technology, chemical preparations and solutions for forging euro bills. In order to counterfeit 300 000 euros they needed 100 000 genuine euros that were to be used as models. The suspects were arrested for 72 hours. If they are found guilty, they will serve 5 to 10 years in jail for forging bills with the aim of putting them into circulation.
