Three cases of drowning were reported over the last two days. The victims are two men and a boy aged 14, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, one of the men aged 60 drowned in a pond in Taplesti village of Sangerei district. The second, of 31, lost his life in a pond in Zahareuca, Telenesti. The men went to swim far from the bank and didn’t return. Their bodies were taken out by villagers in several hours.
The third case happened in Fetita, Cimislia. A 14-year-old teen went to swim in a lake together with his friends. At a certain moment, the boy got into a panic. Those who accompanied him tried to save him, but in vain. The body was found by rescuers.
The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns against swimming at night and under the influence of alcohol. Fifteen persons have drowned in Moldova since the start of the summer season, three of whom are minors.
