A man from Telenesti and two teens from Ungheni were sentenced to 12, four and, respectively, five years in jail for sexually abusing minors, IPN reports.
According to prosecutors, in the first case the man, who was aged 20, lured an eight-year-old boy into his home and raped him. The abuser threatened the boy he will be beaten if he tells someone what happened. The case became known in half a year. The victim, who is now ten, undergoes psychological rehabilitation treatment.
In the second case, which occurred last autumn, three teens aged 15, 14 and 11, while on the territory of an unfinished construction, beat and sexually abused a seven-year-old boy. The minor aged 11 wasn’t jailed, but is under the supervision of the inspectorate for minors.
The statistical data of the Prosecutor General’s Office show that 148 children became victims of sexual abuse in the first half of this year, as opposed to 116 in the corresponding period last year.
