Three persons arrested following searches at NBM

There persons were arrested as a result of the investigation measures carried out at the National Bank of Moldova on March 5. These include a current vice governor, a former vice governor and a division head who are suspected of involvement in swindles and money laundering, IPN reports.

The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office conduced searches within the bank fraud case. As part of the same case, today the prosecutors charged former governor of the NBM Dorin Drăguțanu.

The Prosecutor General’s Office said the taken measures were conditioned by the results achieved as a result of a number of probes and special investigation measures and the analysis of a wide range of financial and legal documents. More similar measures will be taken and these will feature other public figures involved in the bank fraud.

The three arrested persons are NBM vice governor Aureliu Cincilei, ex-vice governor Emma Tăbârță, and division head Ion Ropot.
