Three persons who are accused of corrupting voters during last November’s elections to choose deputies on the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia were brought to justice, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases.
The three include the head of electoral sector No.1/2 of Comrat and the wife of the ex-chairman of the People’s Assembly. The three are accused of offering 100 to 1 000 lei to people to vote for a particular person.
If they are found guilty, the three will be fined 27,500 lei to 42,500 lei or will be jailed for a period of up to five years.
