A large fire was reported on the seventh floor of an apartment building located on Pietrarilor St in Chisinau. The firefighters found three carbonized bodies during the fire extinguishing operation, IPN reports.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said the call to the 112 Service was made after 9pm on Thursday. Five rescue and firefighting teams were at the scene immediately. The two-room apartment was engulfed by flames.

The rescuers took a person who suffered carbon monoxide poisoning out of the apartment. This was rushed to the hospital. The identity of the three persons who died is yet to be determined.

The fire was put out in about an hour and a half. Specialists are to establish the cause of fire.
