Three pedestrians injured in separate accidents
Three pedestrians, including a child, suffered injuries in traffic accidents occurred on Chisinau roads on Tuesday, April 29.
Road Safety Inspector of the Chisinau Traffic Police Ion Roscovanu told Info-Prim Neo that two vehicles of those involved in the accidents were electric buses.
The first accident occurred at around 9:30 on Pushkin Street, where a trolley struck a man, 45. The man escaped with minor injuries. At around 13:00, another trolleybus struck an 8-year-old boy on Alba Iulia Street. The child was admitted to Valentin Ignatenco Hospital for head trauma treatment.
A 51-year-old woman has been admitted in critical condition to the intensive care section of the Emergency Hospital after being hit in the suburban town of Sangera by a Kia Pregio van, driven by a 25-year-old man.
High speeds and rain-slicked roads caused two vehicle-tree collisions. An aquaplaning Lada car, driven by a 63-year-old man, ran into a tree on Mesterul Manole Street. The driver suffered brain concussion and damaged his car. Several hours later, the same thing happened to a 35-year-old woman, driving a Chery car on Trandafirilor Street. The woman ended up with frontal wounds.
Over the past day and night, there were registered 5 traffic accidents which resulted in 5 persons being injured and 17 minor accidents which involved no victims. Road officers detected 17 persons driving drunk and fined 86 pedestrians for jaywalking.
