More than 24% of respondents would vote for the ruling party PAS in the event of a parliamentary election. About 13% would vote for PSRM and 12% for the Șansa Party. MAN would get less than 5%, i.e. below the electoral threshold, according to the iData Barometer, presented during a press conference on Wednesday. More than 12% of the voters would not vote, 15% are undecided and 5% did not answer.
Among the decided voters, 53.5% would vote for PAS, 19% for PSRM, 17.8% for the Șansa Party, and 7.2% MAN, these being the only parties that would clear the 5% threshold.
According to iData director Mihai Bologan, respondents were offered a list of the most popular politicians, to which 24.2% indicated Maia Sandu as the politician they trust the most. The president is followed by Ilan Shor with 10.5% and Igor Dodon with 10.2%. One in five respondents does not trust any politician. Also, Maia Sandu was indicated (open question) as the most active politician in the last 30 days, followed by Ion Ceban and Ilan Shor.
According to the Barometer, over 35% of respondents believe that things in Moldova are going in the right direction. 50% believe that things are going in the wrong direction. 15% did not know how to answer this question. Geographically, respondents in central districts, such as Călărași Hâncești and Cimișlia, are more optimistic, and those in Comrat, Ungheni, Balti, Râșcani, and Fălești are more pessimistic.
56% of respondents want Moldova to join the European Union, over 32% are against, and 12% did not know or did not want to answer the question. The regions in the center of the country are particularly in favor of joining the EU, and the Euro-skeptics are in Comrat, and also in the northern region of the country.
53% are against joining NATO, and 30% would vote for accession. 17% of respondents do not have an opinion on this subject.
The most important event in November, according to the poll, were the local elections, mentioned by 33.6% of the respondents, but also the farmers’ protest, mentioned by 10.1% of the respondents. About 73% are satisfied with the choice made regarding the mayor of the locality, and 21% are dissatisfied. The most satisfied are those from Leova, Cimișlia, Ungheni, Calarasi. The most dissatisfied are those from Balti, Anenii Noi, Causeni and Comrat.
The poll was conducted on a sample of 997 people from 387 localities. The data collection period was December 2-15, and the maximum sampling error is 3.1%.
