Three parliamentary groups have been established at the first meeting of the 10th Parliament. They belong to the Democrats, Socialists and the Sor Party. The electoral bloc NOW has 10 more days to decide in which format it will activate in the Parliament, IPN reports.
Socialist leader Zinaida Greceanii announced the PSRM group has 35 MPs. Corneliu Furculita will be the group’s deputy leader, while Vasile Bolea will be its secretary.
Democrat MP Sergiu Sirbu said the PDM group will have 30 MPs, headed by Pavel Filip.
Marina Tauber announced the Sor Party’s 7-member group would be headed by party leader Ilan Shor.
Andrei Nastase, co-president of the NOW bloc, said the bloc will remain united. As regards the exact format in which it will work, Nastase assured a definitive answer would be given within the next days, as required by the Parliament’s Regulation.
After the groups’ announcements, the oldest MP, Eduard Smirnov, ascertained the lack of a majority and said that Parliament cannot continue its work. “We are announcing a break. You will be informed about the date and hour of the next meeting”, concluded Smirnov.
