Three of four drivers in favor of stoplights with intermittent green
The plates with green arrows are good, but the signals with intermittent green are better, consider three of four drivers. The poll was conducted at several intersections in Chisinau, where there were set up the new traffic sign. There were polled more than 1 500 drivers, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the February 6 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, the head of the General Public Transport and Communications Division Adrian Boldurescu said most of the drivers stressed that the plate with a green arrow is not visible at night. Asked if they prefer plates or intermittent lights, 75% of the drivers said the lights are better noticeable.
The City Hall placed the first traffic lights with intermittent green signal before related changes were made to the road traffic regulations. The Government yet approved the Ministry of the Interior’s proposal to set up plates with a green arrow on black background instead of the intermittent green signal. It allows the drivers to turn to the direction shown by the arrow when the traffic lights are red.
The first plate with a green arrow was fixed on January 21, at the intersection of Bucuresti St and the viaduct that connects the districts Centru and Botanica. Later, there were set up another 11 plates.
