Officers of the Anticorruption Center examined three of the five bakeries that increased the prices of bead, the Center’s spokeswoman Angela Starinschi has told Info-Prim Neo. According to the quoted source, the bakeries argued that the price of raw material rose after June 15. One of these bakeries, which increased the price of bread by 0.75 lei, earlier borrowed 250 tonnes of wheat from the state reserve. The inspections go on to determine if the price rises are justified or not. The results of the examinations will be made public later today, said Angela Starinschi. Last week, a number of bakeries in northern Moldova raised the prices of bread by almost 30%. The Anticorruption Center decided to carry out inspections at the given companies.
