In the snap parliamentary elections, 33.7% of the electors would vote for PAS, 25.2% for BeCS, while 6% for the Shor Party, shows the Public Opinion Barometer (POB) for June 2021. The Electoral Bloc “Renato Usatîi” (BERU) would not pass the election threshold as it would poll only 4.6% of the vote. Also, 2.7% of those polled said they would vote for the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”.
Institute for Public Policy (IPP) executive director Arcadie Barbăroșie, in a news conference at IPN, said PAS would gain 43.5% of the votes of the decided respondents, BeCS – 32.5%, while the Shor Party – 7.8%. BERU would have higher chances in this case, with 5.9% of the votes of those decided. PPPDA would win 3.5% of the vote.
Some 67.5% of those surveyed said they are absolutely sure they will go to the polls, 13.6% are sure, 9.1% will probably go, while 3.4% will probably not go. 5% of the respondents are sure they will not go to vote.
Asked which institution or person rules in the Republic of Moldova, 33.1% of the respondents said Parliament, 19.3% - the President, 15.8% - circles from outside the country, 15% circles of interest from inside the country.
46.7% of those polled consider most of the politicians in the country are corrupt. 24.1% said they are all corrupt, while 19.3% said only some of them are corrupt. Asked what they mean by ‘corrupt politician’, 63.1% of the respondents said they refer to those who do not deliver on their promises, 59% - those who steal public funds, while 57.9% - those who place the personal interests above everything.
The survey covered a sample of 1,162 persons aged 18 and up from the Republic of Moldova. The margin of sampling error is 2.9%. The data were collected during June 12- 26 by interviews at respondents’ homes.
As to the accusations of the BERU leader, who earlier said that those who produce the Public Opinion Barometer fixed the survey results, Arcadie Barbăroșie said he studied at least four polls and didn’t see the Electoral Bloc “Renato Usatîi” having the figures mentioned by Renato Usatîi in any of them. “I urge him to better take care of the voters who haven’t made up their minds yet and attract them rather than to say such things that are not at all credible. I think he only spoils his image among the voters by such assertions,” stated the executive director of the IPP.
Renato Usatîi said the figures for the bloc he represents were manipulated and 4.6% is actually 8.4%. He also said that the figures were manipulated by Arcadie Barbăroșie himself.
