The Swan Lake ballet, staged at the National Opera and Ballet Theater in Chisinau, will see three lead dancers debut: Alexandru Balan, Tudor Tudose and Dinu Bulmaga. The show is scheduled for Sunday, October 16, at 4 PM. “We're glad that the young people who have only recently joined the Opera and Ballet Theater troupe will fully involve in upcoming shows and even in leading roles. What's important is that this month we'll stage several novel ballet shows”, the theater's general director Valeria Seican told Info-Prim Neo. Ballet dancer Alexandru Balan will play Prince Siegfried, who tries to save Princess Odette and her friends, transformed into swans by an evil wizard. Alongside the charming Anastasia Homitskaya (Odette) and the rest of the ballet troupe, the young artist will present a love story where feelings can defeat any obstacle, whether spell or curse. The elegance of movement, the stage presence and the exceptional performance are the Swan Lake's biggest assets for the audience. It's a happiness, a story told in rhythm of dance, a love that is born and grows on Tchaikovsky's music, says the TNOB director. Next week, on Friday and Saturday at 6 PM, the Opera and Ballet Theater will stage Morris Panych's Vigil, directed by Veaceslav Sambris. This is the story of a lonely young man, who awaits the death of a silent and surly old woman, whom he believes his aunt and who spends time with stories and memories about death. It's a black comedy about life, death, love, memories and remorses. Its author, Morris Panych, said about his own work: “I dedicate it to everyone who died, but had nothing to do with death”.
