Another three persons died drowned during the past few days. A 19-year-old man drowned in the Nistru River near Parata village in Dubasari district. His body has not been found yet. A man aged 42 from Soldanesti was fishing in the Nistru near Tarasova village in Rezina district and was swallowed by the waves. Another man aged 43 get drowned in a pond in Recea village of Straseni district, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service. Specialists say that the number of drownings has considerably increased this year. Thirty-four persons have drowned since the start of the swimming season, including 14 minors, and 43 persons since the start of the year, including 18 minors. The Service keeps a record of the reported cases only. The real number of drowned persons can be higher. The firefighters in Basarabeasca town saved an old man aged 80 from fire. Spokeswoman Liliana Puscasu said that the fire broke out at the man’s home at about 2.00. Initially, the fire destroyed the shed. Then it extended to the house’s roof. The firefighters took the man out of the house full with smoke and managed to extinguish the fire. Allegedly, the fire was caused by a short circuit.
