Three more applicants registered as electoral competitors

Three more aspirants for the office of President of Moldova were registered by the Central Election Commission as election runners. These are: the candidate of “Our Party” Dumitru Chubashenko; the candidate of the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) Maia Sandu, and the candidate of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon. Another five electoral competitors have been registered earlier, IPN reports.

Over 1,700 signatures presented by the initiative group of Dumitru Chubashenko were invalidated, while more than 23,000 were validated. The candidate’s symbol is a white square with the inscription “Renato Usatyi” inside.

Over 24,000 signatures were presented in favor of Maia Sandu. Of these, more than 2,000 were invalidated. Maia Sandu’s symbol is a square with the word “pas” between slashes (/pas/) inside.

Over 1,600 signatures of the almost 25,000 provided in favor of Igor Dodon were invalidated. The Socialist candidate’s symbol is a bicolor star with five points.

September 29 is the deadline by which the potential candidates can submit subscription lists with at least 15,000 signatures collected in their favor. Today is also the last day when voters can declare their place of stay so as to be able to vote elsewhere than at the place of residence.
