Three men aged 32, 35 and 46 from Chiperceni village of Orhei district died while cleaning a local well on June 26. According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the men were poisoned by the toxic gas that accumulated in the well from the motor-pump, IPN reports.
The three men went down into a public well with the depth of about 10 meters to clean it. There was a motor pump inside it. In a period, locals saw that the men didn’t show signs of life and alerted the emergency service. The rescuers with special equipment extracted the three men out. The rescue effort lasted for about 20 minutes.
The doctors and rescuers who were on the spot started the resuscitation maneuvers. After about an hour, these stated the death of the three.
Rescuers warn the people about the risks posed by such works and urge to seek the assistance of specialists so as not to endanger their lives.
