Three men have died this morning in a head-on collision near Leova town. Another person was rushed to the Leova district hospital in a critical state.
Contacted by IPN, the chief of the Leova Police Inspectorate Nicolae Popa said that two cars of the Patrolling Inspectorate went to the scene as a result of a call made to the emergency service. The police officers established that both of the drivers and one more man were dead. The bodies were taken out of the cars by extrication teams.
The men lived in Leova and were aged 25, 30 and, respectively, 43. Another man of 35 is struggling for life. Nicolae Popa said that the cause of the accident is not yet known, but the preliminary examinations showed that one of the drivers changed lanes and crashed at high speed into a car coming from the opposite direction.
The chief of the Leova Police Inspectorate added that a medical-legal examination will be performed to determine if the persons involved in the accident were under the influence.
