Three men from the municipality of Chisinau are suspected of organizing the illegal migration of Moldovans to Germany. They were arrested after they arranged the forging of Romanian identity cards for a couple from southern Moldova, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the three men are aged between 28 and 45. The criminal scheme also involved a private employment agency whose role was to recruit and transport persons to Germany. The founder and manager of the agency is one of the suspects.
During searches at the domiciles and in the cars of the suspects, the police found papers with obvious signs of forgery and other relevant evidence.
The police established that the suspects charged a person €2,000 for the provided services. They face a fine of at most 67,500 lei or five to seven years in jail for organizing illegal migration.
