Three men from Chisinau were caught in the act of stealing things from the house of a businessman. According to the police, the offense was planned by a detainee. When the thieves broke in, the owners weren’t at home. The culprits admitted their guilt, IPN reports.

“The members of the group intended to commit a robbery in a luxury house in Chisinau, from where they were to steal money and goods to the value of abut 2 million lei. The group is headed by an influential person from the interlope world,” Ion Bodrug, head of the National Police Inspectorate, told a news conference.

Earlier, the three men had been convicted of thefts from pockets and apartments. They were put under arrest for 72 hours. If they are found guilty, they will serve up to 12 years in jail.
