Three lawmakers request Constitutional Court to review April 22 decision

There members of the reforming parliamentary group of the Liberal Party - Ion Hadarca, Oleg Bodrug and Vadim Cojocaru – filed a challenge to the Constitutional Court, demanding that it should review its April 22 decision. The MPs invoked a number of procedural violations, the non-observance of mandatory procedures laid down in the legislation, IPN reports.

On April 22, following a challenge submitted by the Liberal Party, the Constitutional Court ruled that the President’s decree on the nomination of Vlad Filat as Prime Minister was unconstitutional. It argued that a person who led a Government that was discharged on suspicion of smuggling and corruption cannot head a new Government. Thus, Vlad Filat cannot apply for this post anymore, at least until new legislative elections
