Two men aged 30 and 42 died in a motorcycle accident in Gradiște village of Cimișlia district in the evening of May 14. In another accident that occurred in Chisinau, a 30-year-old man died after he was struck by a car on Dacia Blvd.

Contacted by IPN for details, Cimișlia Police Inspectorate press officer Cristina Vicol said a 30-year-old man driving a motorcycle without registration numbers, who had a co-villager aged 42 as a passenger, both without helmets, lost control of the vehicle at a turn and crashed it into a reinforced concrete fence. Both of the men died on the spot.

Chisinau Police Division press officer Natalia Stati said the pedestrian aged 30 was jaywalking in Botanica district when he was hit by a car. Tests showed the driver wasn’t under the influence of alcohol. If he is found guilty of violating the road traffic rules, he will serve up to seven years behind bars.
