Works to rehabilitate three sections of heat pipes that are 150, 200 and 250 mm in diameter and over 700 meters long in Ciocana district were started this week. More than 10,000 people living on the streets Mircea cel Bătrân, Igor Vieru and Mihail Sadoveanu will benefit from modernized heating services, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the heat and electricity producer Termoelectrica.
The works are performed as part of the Investment Plan and include the replacement of three segments of old networks that have been used for over 30 years and pose an increased risk of rupture.
“Each investment decision is aimed at improving the quality of services provided by Termoelectrica. This modernization will determine the diminution of losses on this segment and the risk of accidents,” stated the company’s director general Veaceslav Eni.
Dozens of workers were engaged in the heat pipe replacement works. In this connection, 15 apartment buildings will be disconnected from the water supply at the end of this month for almost ten days. The works are to be completed in the middle of June .
