Three former employees of “Moldovagaz” will be tried for abuse of office and swindle. It goes to a former vice president and a member of the company’s Administration Board who fraudulently hired a person as a specialist in gas metering and in 2016 – 2019 collected about 800,000 lei in salary.

According to prosecutors, all the three face jail terms of 8 to 15 years and a ban on holding particular posts or performing a particular activity for a period of up to five years. The accused persons stopped work for the company in 2019, IPN reports.

This is only one of the criminal cases managed by the Prosecutors Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases in which the damage cause to “Moldovagaz” was determined. The other cases are being investigated. The appropriated funds form part of the category of direct costs of the company and were included in one of the components of the price for gas paid by consumers.
