A Chisinau man, 45, had a narrow escape from death by drowning after he decided to shake off his drunkenness in a pond at Rascani Park on Sunday. Dr. Silvia Babara of the Chisinau Emergency Service has told Info-Prim Neo that the man apparently was too drunk to swim out. He was rescued and resuscitated by persons who were resting nearby. Later he has handed over to the care of the ambulance crew that arrived to the scene. A 37-year-old woman under the influence of alcohol injured her head after jumping from the second floor of an apartment building on Dimo Street. She was admitted to the Emergency Hospital for treatment. A man, 35, inflicted a minor knife wound on his neck while drunk in a bid to threaten his family that he would commit suicide. On Sunday, the Chisinau Emergency Service recorded 662 calls, including 59 cases of trauma, 113 cases of acute viral diseases, 96 of which developed by children, and 8 brain strokes.
