Three dead in accident near Căușeni

Update: The two cars involved in the accident this morning in Căușeni were speeding when one of the drivers lost control of the steering wheel in a curve. As a result, a frontal collision took place and three people lost their lives.

Asked by IPN, the Căușeni Police Inspectorate press officer, Corina Repeșciuc, said that the Peugeot vehicle was driven by a 32-year-old. After losing control of the steering wheel in a curve, the car moved to the opposite lane, were it collided with another Opel model car, which was coming from the opposite direction. The second car was driven by a 19-year-old. Both drivers had driving licenses.

The 32-year-old driver and his passenger, aged 27, with whom they were related, lost their lives. The other driver, aged 19, died, while his father, who was a passenger, was transported to the hospital for medical care.


Three young people lost their lives this morning, October 17, in a road accident that occurred at the entrance to the town of Căușeni. According to the police, the preliminary cause of the accident would be high speed in conditions of low visibility.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the accident occurred after 08:00, at the entrance to the town of Căușeni, on the segment between the village of Grigorievca and Căușeni, where a Peugeot vehicle and an Opel Zamfira collided head-on.

Two young males, aged 19 and 32, and a 27-year-old female were killed in the accident.
