The Strategic Communication Center will soon have a new director. Next Wednesday, April 2, is the final round of the competition. Three candidates have been invited to the interview: Iurie Gotisan, Artur Gurau and Andrei Fornea, IPN reports.
The competition commission of the President's Office has set separate times for discussions with each of the three candidates for the post of director of the Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Misinformation.
Iurie Gotisan is an economist and financial analyst, founding member of the Independent Analytical Center Expert-Grup. He currently leads a program for Macroeconomic Modeling, Analysis and Forecasting. He previously held senior positions in the Public Services Agency.
Artur Gurau has been leading Granat Agency since 2012 and is the co-founder of Rockit Academy, an educational platform dedicated to the development of digital skills. Gurau holds a law degree.
Andrei Fornea chairs the public association Media Point, which has been involved for years in online election monitoring and the digitization of local public administration in Moldova.
The contest is organized on the basis of a decree signed by President Maia Sandu, and the committee in charge of evaluating the candidates is made up of journalists, representatives of civil society, MPs and members of the President's Apparariat.
The Center for Strategic Communication and Combating Disinformation was created in July 2023 and is tasked with coordinating the authorities' efforts to combat disinformation and protect Moldova's information security.
