The Cabinet on Wednesday recalled three ambassadors, namely Anatol Ciubuc, from Bulgaria, Igor Bodiu, from Poland, and Oleg Tulea, from Hungary. At the same meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi proposed new candidates for the vacant positions, IPN reports.
Violeta Agrici, who has been working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2007 and is currently the head of the International Law Department, was suggested for the post of ambassador to Poland.
Emil Jacota, who has over 30 years of experience of work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was proposed as ambassador to Bulgaria. Currently, he heads a unit in the Bilateral Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mihail Barbulat, who heads the State Diplomatic Protocol Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was proposed as ambassador to Hungary.
The Cabinet of Ministers decided that Vladimir Cuc, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Swiss Confederation, will be appointed ambassador to the Principality of Liechtenstein, with residence in Geneva.
Also, Ambassador to Austria Victoria Rosca will simultaneously held the position of ambassador to Slovakia, with residence in Vienna.
Ambassador to the Czech Republic Gabriela Moraru was nominated as ambassador to the Holy See, with residence in Prague.
Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Ruslan Bolbocean will also serve as Moldova’s Parament Representative to the International Maritime Organization.
Sergiu Odainic, Ambassador to Canada, was appointed as the representative of the Republic of Moldova to the International Civil Aviation Organization.
The Cabinet also named Adrian Popescu as Consul General of the Republic of Moldova in Milan, Italy.
According to the Law on the Diplomatic Service, proposals regarding the appointment of ambassadors are submitted to the Cabinet by the minister of foreign affairs, after consulting the Parliament’s commission on foreign policy and European integration. Subsequently, the candidates are confirmed to posts by presidential decree.
