Thousands of children will receive school bags and supplies within charity campaign

Thousands of children from Romania, the Republic of Moldova and the Romanian diaspora will be given school bags and supplies needed at the start of the school year within a charity campaign entitled “Small Schoolbag”, which was initiated by Boris Volosatyi, deputy head of the Romanian Parliament’s commission for communities of Romanians from outside the country’s borders, together with the team, IPN reports.

According to an article published on the website of the Metropolitan Church of Bessarabia, the goal of the campaign is to bring a dose of joy and support to the children who come from disfavored environments. A significant number of 30,000 children from Romania, the Republic of Moldova and the Romanian diaspora will benefit from this initiative. In the spirit of Romanian solidarity, this campaign transcends the borders and brings together different communities for a common effort for the wellbeing of children.

The backpacks and school supplies will be distributed to socially deprived families, schools, lyceums, placement centers for refugees and churches managed by the Metropolitan Church of Bessarabia in different localities. This initiative supports the education of children and also strengthens the ties between Romanian communities. “The “Small Schoolbag” this way becomes an expression of solidarity and responsibility before the future of young generations. This charity campaign confirms the importance of social involvement and mutual support in building a better and more inclusive society,” runs the article.
